I'D Self-braking Descender (P-D20L-S)
This device is designed for descending a rope and belaying. It includes an anti-panic function and can be quickly installed on the rope without detaching from the harness.
Two models are available. The D20S will accommodate rope from 10 to 11.5mm (7/16"). The D20L is designed for rope from 11.5 to 13mm (1/2").
Special safety features include a design that prevents incorrect threading of the rope; a system to pinch the rope and apply the brake if the user releases the handle, and an anti-panic handle (the I'D will lock onto the rope if the user pulls too hard on the handle).
To descend, simply pull on the handle. The speed is regulated by varying the grip on the free end of the rope with the other hand. Climbing is possible without changing the position of the device by adding a footloop and a handled rope clamp.
The body is made of anodized aluminum and cam is stainless steel. The handle is made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide.
