Excavation Safety: Competent Person

A competent person on site is a requirement of every location where excavating is occuring.

This course meets the requirements of OSHA regulations and provides students with an in-depth understanding of excavation safety including signs and causes of cave-ins, soil mechanics, soil testing, dewatering, safety planning, and conducting inspections.

It includes a variety of hands-on activities and field exercises that allow the student ample opportunity to practice and demonstrate their skills.

This course generally runs two days but can also be taught in one day as refresher training to those who are already working as competent persons.
